This harness allows a “center of the back” point of attachment that some mushers and skijor-ers prefer. This has a fitted neck with a d-ring sewn to the top of the neck and a d-ring (padded with neoprene) sewn near the center of the dog’s back. It has a floating cinch which uses a single side release snap (padded with neoprene) to close. This center of the back design frees up a dog’s rear and may help dogs that have a tendency to sidewind going down the trail. This harness may also work well for the escape artist on the team since it has a cinch. Standard Sizes are in 1” increments from 18” to 32”. Choice of fleece or Neoprene lining.

  • PLEASE MEASURE ACCURATELY! Harnesses cannot be returned. Measure from just ahead of the withers at the base of the neck to the top of the breastbone, then double this measurement. Work the tape under the fur, pull it snug but not stretched. Measure the dog, not the fur! Measure only one side of the dog then double the measurement. Wrapping the tape measure all the way around the neck may distort the measurement. The Corgi in the picture takes a 21" harness. A Flat Coat Retriever ordered a 22" harness.

Neck fit is critical. When properly fitted, where the webbing crosses at the “Y” below the neck, the webbing should cross right on the breastbone. At the same time you are holding the webbing in place on the breastbone, check to see that the “Y” at the top of the neck, crosses where the neck joins the withers (shoulder blades).
